Julie Gigante

Since her Carnegie Hall debut, Julie Gigante has been in demand as a chamber musician, soloist and recording artist. Her solo appearances include performances with the Opus and Los Angeles chamber orchestras; the New York String Orchestra; the Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra; the National, Alexandria and Fairfax symphony orchestras; and the Phoenix and Arlington symphonies. She also performed, by special invitation, as part of the Young Artists Series on the New York City radio station WQXR.
She has held the position of assistant concertmaster of the Phoenix Symphony and served as concertmaster with both the Music Academy of the West Festival Orchestra in Santa Barbara and the Opus Chamber Orchestra in Los Angeles. She has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1986. An active chamber musician, Julie won first prize with a piano trio at the Coleman Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena and is a founding member of both the Capitol Ensemble and the Angeli Duo. She is also active in the motion picture and recording industries and has performed on hundreds of movie scores and audio recordings.
Julie was born into a musical family and began her training at the age of five. She graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree and also earned the prestigious Performer’s Certificate. She now resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
