Andrew Ninmer
Drew Ninmer is a freelance trumpet player, arranger, and composer in the Los Angeles area. Drew is a recent graduate of California State University Long Beach, where he earned his Master’s degree in jazz studies.
He is active in the recording studios, having recorded for Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Outlander) and Sean Callery (Bones, Homeland, 24). Drew has also performed with the LA Opera and with Kanye West at the Hollywood Bowl. He is the contractor, concertmaster, and arranger with the Southern California Brass Consortium, a professional brass ensemble. In addition, Drew was a featured trumpet player in the Oscar winning film Whiplash.
Drew has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana and a master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, both in jazz studies. He is currently on faculty at Long Beach City College, teaching classes and the trumpet studio
