JOSHUA RANZ PLAYS Florence Price: Adoration.
An excerpt performed as part of 2020 LACO SummerFest Concert and made possible a generous gift from Terri + Jerry Kohl. Originally written for organ, Principal Clarinet Joshua Ranz was inspired to arrange this work for clarinet quintet after hearing it performed by fellow clarinetist Anthony McGill. Florence Price is noted as the first African-American woman to have a composition played by a major orchestra; she composed Adoration in 1951 and she passed in 1952.
