Community Partners
The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s community outreach program, Community Partners, provides free tickets and transportation to our concerts for students and community service organizations across the city to each of LACO’s Orchestral Series performances.
LACO initiated Community Partners during the Orchestra’s 40th anniversary, under the title 40 for 40, with the aim to provide 40 free concert tickets and free transportation to area schools and community service organizations. The cost of providing free tickets and transportation to these groups was covered by donations totaling over $60,000. Thanks to a strong show of support from our patrons, LACO celebrates the program’s twelfth year during our 2019-20 season.
A music teacher at a participating elementary school wrote:
“I wish you could have been sitting with me in the midst of children sitting on the edges of their seats totally absorbed in listening to Vivaldi. I know that the music was a revelation to them and that their lives will never be the same.”
